Important Information from Our Directors – COVID-19 Update

We hope you are well and keeping safe during these uncertain and troubling times.

As a company, we wish to make contact with all couples and clients that have existing bookings with us in order to notify you as to our stance on the current situation.
Following the recent developments regarding coronavirus and subsequent advice and guidelines from the Government, we have temporarily closed our office and warehouse. Our view is to rep-open flowing the 3 week lockdown period. We will be checking the news daily for updates and complying with any extensions of this period is advised.
We, as a business, are currently operating as normal as can be at this time as we closely following government advice and guidelines in order to help restrict the spreading of coronavirus.

We are working remotely from home, continuing to respond to any emails and enquires during standard business hours. Please bear with us, as we are operating on a skeleton team due to furloughed staff and reduced operations. Please allow for a slightly longer response time via email and social media.

We aim to be able to work with clients during this uncertain time with the COVID-19 virus taking effect. If your concerns result in consideration of postponement to a new date for your booking, please notify us as soon as possible.
We are taking careful consideration of each individual enquiry to postpone services from the original booking date, assessing each request on a case by case basis, based on the reasoning given.
For your added information, any possible postponement dates that are agreed upon looking ahead in 2021, we would kindly ask for 50% of any outstanding balance to be paid on the original due date. We hope this is agreeable and a compromise during these difficult times for us as a small business.
Where possible, every effort will be made to explore clients’ postponement dates, and we will keep the information provided open and transparent. In the unfortunate case, we are unable to work with clients on a selected postponement date, this would result in non-refundable reservation fee amounts staying paid.

In the event that any of our clients should look to cancel any services they have booked with us, we are advising reference to our booking terms and conditions (these can be found on your e-signed booking form).
We also recommend referring to insurance documentation you may have to carry out the cancellation process. We can provide information or copy invoices should any proceedings of wedding & event insurance claims be processed.

We do hope that you will see from the information we have outlined above just how seriously we are addressing the situation. During these uncertain times, you can be assured that we are here to help and advise the best way we can.

Spotlight on a DJ – Being Martin Cooper

Looking for an experienced family DJ for your wedding, birthday or personal party in Essex or Suffolk – Martin is the guy you want!

Wedding DJ  Spotlight

Whilst prepping his DJ Equipment for a wedding at Hengrave Hall, I briefly distracted him with a coffee to chat about the party he was about to bring:

  • What services are you prepping for?

I’m loading up my DJ gear ready to provide evening DJ entertainment. I’m leaving soon to arrive in time to set up whilst they are eating their wedding breakfast.  A quick change and then I’ll start.

  • What’s the playlist like you have for tonight?

After their first dance they have asked to go straight into the party, but initially want some familiar family tunes for their children to enjoy before their eye lids become too heavy. Later I plan to play music through the decades as requested by the couple. They have said they are happy for me to use my experience to read the crowd.  They just want the dancefloor full! The bride and groom has sent us some awesome tracks to work from. I’ve got a bit of everything from Stevie Wonder and Motown to some 90’s pop like Backstreet Boys.

  • So, what is the first dance?

I have been asked to play “All of Me” by John Legend, a popular choice right now.  Then I think I will move onto the new Bruno Mars track as it’s just so catchy and fun.

  • And the song to finish the evening? 

They’ve chosen their last dance to be “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen, a real party classic.

 

Martin has been with us since Dreamwave started sprouting roots in 2009 and his good judgement of music choice from reading the crowd only comes from experience making him the accomplished DJ he is today. His musical prowess and knowledge gained from DJing since he was teenager will make sure you never stop dancing! We are thrilled to call him a member of our team.
